While this is the first dead Pool movie to be made after Disney acquires Fox, it shouldn’t be any sweeter than previous movies. Like the first two films, Dead Pool 3 will be rated R, making it the first film set in the MCU to have this rating. Karan Soni, who returns as Dopinder in the third film, assured fans that the vibe is the same with Dead Pool 3.

“I started working on that one, so I can say it’s the same as the other two. It’s like hard R. There’s a lot of that stuff. So it doesn’t feel any different” , said the actor ComicBook.com. “The only thing that for me is different is that I didn’t get the script this time. The other two we got it, that’s a big difference, at least for me, the part MCU vs. part Fox/Marvel. They’re so strict. So I’ve only seen a glimpse of what I’m into.

Limiting access to the script is likely an effort to avoid major spoiler leaks, as there are expected to be many major surprises. Either way, Soni teases that this is the movie Reynolds wanted to make and that it doesn’t have any restrictions from Disney.

“When I did certain things, I saw things that I didn’t know were there,” he said. “I guess I’d just put it this way: Ryan [Reynolds] doesn’t need to do any of these movies unless he gets to do his version of them and is such a star, and, needless to say, creative genius. He takes that opportunity and really pushes everything and definitely does a lot of cool stuff. I’m very optimistic about it.”

Dead Pool 3 is currently slated for release in theaters on May 3, 2024.
