A costume designer brought Sophia Lillis’ Doric the Druid to life in a new Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Thieves cosplay.
Posted on Instagram by costume designer Kara, aka. @karamcosplay Doric cosplay highlights the Druid’s vibrant red hair, curly horns, and green-centric outfit and gear. According to Kara, the costume was made with the help of Emily Putscher (@dy3anoth3rday). Apart from honor among thievesthe cosplayer has crafted impressive recreations of other notable pop culture characters, including Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, scooby-doois the thorn, The Dragon Princeis Rayla and Hotel Transylvaniait’s Mavis.
Sophia Lillis, known for portraying Beverly Marsh in the rebooted HE movies and Sydney Novak in Netflix I don’t agree with this, plays Doric in the latest film adaptation of the classic tabletop role-playing game. Other members of honor among thieves the cast includes Chris Pine, who plays Edgin the Bard, fast furious star Michelle Rodriguez, who brings Holga the Barbarian to life, and Detective PikachuJustice Smith as Simon the Sorcerer. honor among thieves is directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley with Michael Gilio contributing to the screenplay.
What to expect from honor among thieves
The film follows a group of colorful adventurers as they attempt to right their mistake of accidentally unleashing one of the greatest evils the world has ever known. The narrative overflows with various references to Dungeons and Dragonsincluding player favorite spells like Shield, animated object and burning ray. A clip released ahead of the March 31 premiere honor among thieves highlights some of the common pitfalls of using the Speak with the Dead spell.
For the more dedicated fans of Dungeons and Dragonsthe film includes brief cameos from the 1980s protagonists J&D animated series. honor among thieves also contains a surprise Bradley Cooper cameowho currently stars in the MCU as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Rocket Raccoon character. Cooper, who briefly appeared as the voice of a halfling named Marlamin, took the rest of the cast by surprise when he appeared in the film. Rodriguez, who appeared in the scene, explained that “it was originally another actor” and that “they added [Cooper] afterwards, then told me about it. I was like, ‘What?'”
While honor among thieves has performed well at the domestic box office so far, earning an estimated $5.6 million in preview alone, the Dungeons and Dragons adaptation underperformed in some international markets. Notably, the film opened in fourth place at the Chinese box office with an opening night gross of just $1.36 million, far behind the top earner. Suzume no Tojimaritakes $4.18 million.
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Thieves is now in theaters.
