A new report from Bloomberg says Apple is looking to boost revenue this year by increasing the average retail price of the iPhone 15 lineup. This would be made possible by the iPhone 15 Pro Max 2023, which will be the most expensive iPhone ever, but there will also be a change in the release distribution.
Despite the economic uncertainty this year, Apple estimates that its total sales will remain unchanged at around 85 million units. There will be fewer basic iPhone 15 orders due to CMOS sensor issues and Apple will ramp up iPhone 15 Pro production to make up for the lack of cheap iPhone 15s.
To some degree, it makes sense for Apple to raise prices, as we’ve seen most manufacturers do over the past year or so. In fact, at its 2022 launch event, Apple said it wouldn’t increase its prices for the iPhone 14 lineup, but that was only true for China and the US, while European iPhone prices have increased significantly.
