Nancy Meyers’ 2006 Christmas film “The Holiday” has carved its way into the hearts and minds of moviegoers around the world in the 16 years since its release. movie stars Kate Winslet like Iris, a British columnist, and Cameron Diaz as Amanda, an American who makes movie trailers. Both are unlucky in love and desperate for an escape, so they swap homes to spend Christmas in sunny Los Angeles and snowy England, respectively. Iris falls in love with Amanda’s colleague, played by Jack Blackand Amanda falls in love with Iris’ brother, a single father with a heart of gold, played by Jude’s Law. Everyone is happily coupled on New Year’s Eve at the end of the film.

December 6, The sun reported that the film’s four leads have signed on for a sequel, but we have some bad news. Representatives for Winslet have confirmed to POPSUGAR that the sequel is not happening. Meyers also posted on instagram about the rumour, writing, “So many DMs about [the reported sequel] – sorry but that’s not true.” Reps for Diaz, Black and Law did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.

While we won’t be seeing the “Holiday” gang again, the film’s four stars and the director have new projects in the works. Diaz took a break after 2014 and the next Netflix movie “Back to Action” is shaping up to be his return to the big screen. He will also play Jamie Foxx. Meanwhile, Black will voice Bowser in the upcoming “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” Law is set to star as Captain Hook in Disney+’s “Peter Pan & Wendy” in 2023, and Winslet appears in this month’s “Avatar: The Way of Water.”
