The Google Pixel Watch (obviously) should have been a must-have item in the DL offices as it was the first smartwatch from Google and everything else. Even if we don’t quite know all the details related to its specs, features and price, this is without a doubt the device we need. But now, after the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 line was revealed today, the Pixel Watch looks like the last hope for excitement in 2022.

Let’s talk about what we know will happen in 2022.

We know the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are coming soon and what they will look like. There will be improvements (like Tensor 2), but let’s be honest, what we’ve seen so far certainly looks like a minor upgrade from the Pixel 6 line. We know that Samsung will likely release the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 in the coming weeks, also with minor improvements over previous generations. We’re pretty sure OnePlus is about to introduce the inconvenient OnePlus 10T update. We know that Nichtofon (1) will not come here. We know that OSOM sold their soul to the sketchy world of cryptography.

2022 looks like an average year for phones. And if not too much, because the quality of devices should be high, then at least it looks like denseness. This isn’t to say that most of the devices I mentioned above won’t be good or worth upgrading depending on your current device, just that it won’t be a year for groundbreaking new products.belonging.

So when phones are shaped this way, we move on to wearables, and that’s where Pixel Watch vs. Galaxy Watch 5 comes into play.

As I mentioned at the beginning, the Pixel Watch is the obvious choice for me. Not only because it’s Google’s first smartwatch, but also because Samsung’s watch line is like the phones everyone is about to release – nothing new.

Now a guy from Samsung will appear and say: “Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is brand new, you fool!” And yes, dude, it is. Have you seen it though? This deep-dish design looks thicker than a leg and with the battery we’re going to make for a case that looks silly on the wrist of anyone whose name isn’t Dwayne Johnson? And the regular Galaxy Watch 5 is a direct copy of the Galaxy Watch 4, a great line of watches, but like we’ve seen before. What worries me here, skin temperature sensor?

Connect the already played design with the design of Samsung hmm One UI Watch software and I’ll pass. Give me a Pixel Watch, please.

The Pixel Watch is a fresh take on smartwatch design, as clean as can be, with a rotating crown protruding from the curved bottom and top, and domed glass with a stainless steel back. Google has managed to create smartwatches that look like wristwatches and not just another piece of wearable technology. The case is sized to fit the average person’s wrist, is thin, we’re told it will work with “the new Wear OS” and that Fitbit will have deep integration. It should pair quickly with your phone and fit perfectly into the Google Pixel ecosystem, which is my favorite.

There are some concerns about the old Exynos 9110 chipset that Google has chosen to use, but if another rumor that Google is tweaking the experience by adding a co-processor is true, it should still provide a better experience than Qualcomm’s 4100 line. We also know that Google is working on it. forever and ever and then it is expected to be dialed at launch, unlike their yearly phone releases.

I just got a little geeky and came off like a spoiled techie? Still would. But I still love getting excited about new products, and the Pixel Watch is our last hope, Obi-Wan.
