Our first look at the Pixel 7a

It’s the end of November, but not much about the upcoming Pixel 7a from Google that we don’t know. There have been many reports detailing the specs and materials that will be used, so it’s only fitting that we now have unofficial renders of the device based on what we assume are dimensions being sent to accessory makers.

Speaking of dimensions, the Pixel 7a reportedly measures 152.4 x 72.9 x 9.0mm, which is very close to the 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.9mm of the Pixel 6a. If you own a Pixel 6a, these numbers should give you a good idea of what to expect in your hands. Looking at these images, we can see that the device pairs very well with the existing Pixel 7 lineup. Previous reports have indicated that the device comes with dual rear cameras, a Samsung FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, wireless charging, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a chipset Google Tensor.

While these renders are nice to look at, they don’t confirm whether Google is using a ceramic body. This has been previously reported. At this point, we’d be surprised if that happened, but we still have plenty of time to find out more.

We still don’t have exact information on when to expect the launch of this phone, but given the speed with which information is spreading on the Internet, no one will be surprised to see this phone launch in the first quarter of next year. Why Google chose to move the release months ahead of previous Pixel “a” lineup launches remains a mystery, but it could simply be because the Pixel 7 lineup appears to be more popular than the Pixel 6 lineup. We just don’t we know right now.

We will keep you informed.
