Dear Mr. Spielberg, can we put an end to this overused, overblown dinosaur franchise? asks Asim Chabra.

We are in 2022.

The dinosaurs that roamed the limited Jurassic Park are now all over the world, living among us, running wild in the Sierra Nevada mountains, in implausible rainforests like places in Italy, and being sold and traded in an underground market in Malta.

There’s a new world order in Jurassic World Dominiondesigned and created by director Colin Trevorrow (writer jurassic world trilogy, which shot the first part of the film by Irrfan Khan in 2015).

Greedy speculators and businessmen are still corrupting the system instead of allowing man and dinosaurs to live healthy and compatible lives.

And there is a lot of suspension of disbelief.

There are no spoilers here, but the movie ends with tiny baby dinosaurs hanging out in a park in Washington, D.C. and happy American kids playing with them.

But before we get to that, we have almost two and a half hours of jumping around the world.

There are two parallel plots that ultimately involve the multinational corporation Biosyn, led by the evil, eloquent businessman Lewis Dodgson (Campbell Scott).

Biosin is located in the middle of a snow-covered mountainous area, but it is also surrounded by a rainforest inhabited by evil, scary dinosaurs.

If we agree with the idea Jurassic Park A series that began with Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 thriller based on a screenplay by Michael Crichton, some part of our brain can accept this crazy geographic setting.

But this movie is really beyond the realm of possibility.

One part of the story starts with the last movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdomwhere Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), now a dinosaur boy, trains ancient animals as if they were cows.

Owen lives in a perfect home in the woods with his sweetheart Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard).

They chop wood, cook, lead a simple life, and are also the adoptive parents of Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), a genetically engineered orphan who is the granddaughter of the late Dr. John Hammond (played by the lovable Richard Attenborough).

Dodgson wants to kidnap Maisie to serve his greed-tinged scientific vision, and succeeds in doing so by sending Grady and Dearing on a worldwide mission to rescue a little girl, aided by adventurous pilot Kayla Watts (DeWanda Wise). ).

Meanwhile, Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and her old buddy (and long-awaited love interest) Alan Grant (Sam Neil) search for a DNA sample from a giant locust that is destroying wheat in America’s food belt. This locust is also the brainchild of Dodgson’s Biosyn and is developed in the deep basement of the same facility, located in the snowy mountains.

It’s great to see Dern and Neil alongside Jeff Goldblum (playing Ian Malcolm again) in the new movie.

There are moments that take you back to Spielberg’s original thrilling adventure. And you will remember how the first Jurassic Park gave us a summer blockbuster experience quite unlike anything Hollywood had offered up to that time.

But most Jurassic World Dominion so overflowing with genetic engineering that sometimes the movie forgets that it should also be focused on dinosaurs and how they now live in our world, mingling with us, sometimes also scaring the hell out of us.

Jurassic World Dominion there are some scary moments, such as when a large swarm of giant locusts attack a little boy and girl working on a farm in the middle of America.

There is something from Alfred Hitchcock Birds moment upgraded with the latest CGI technology.

In another scene, burning locusts fly over the rainforest, creating a visually beautiful disaster scene. And you think maybe Trevorrow’s film has something new to offer.

The film also takes us to a James Bond-style chase scene – in this case, Grady is riding a motorcycle pursued by a pair of atrociraptors through the narrow streets of Valletta, Malta. And shortly before that, Deering is also being chased by vicious atrociraptors across the rooftops of Valletta.

But the excitement is short-lived.

Most of the time Jurassic World Dominion ignores the fact that he is supposed to entertain us on these hot summer days. It is full of coincidences, convenient solutions, and illogical jumps in the script.

The climax with about 10 (or was it 11?) good souls – all the lead actors trying to avoid the madness in Biosyn – is predictable and quite tiring.
