Alia Bhat would make his Hollywood debut with an action thriller, Heart of Stone. Her co-star in the film, Gal Gadot, congratulated her on the birth of her baby girl on Sunday. Pregnant, Alia had flown to the United Kingdom for the filming of the film in May. Gal left a comment in the comments section of Alia’s post announcing the birth of her child. Alia wrote: “And in the best news of our lives: our baby is here…and what a magical girl she is. We are officially overflowing with love – blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!! love, love, love. Alia and Ranbir.”
Gal Gadot commented on the post late Sunday night. She wrote “Congratulations” with a heart emoticon and party confetti icons.
Alia flew to the UK in May, days after marrying Ranbir Kapoor home in April. They announced her pregnancy in June.
Alia had opened up about filming an action movie with a baby bump in an interview with Variety. She said: “It was my first experience of a major English film in Hollywood and I had quite a task to do because I was shooting an action film for the first time. But I’m also pregnant, so there were so many layers to manage. But they made it so smooth, so easy, and so comfortable for me. It is something I will never forget because of the beauty and quality with which I was treated.
The film’s trailer showed Alia amid some powerful action scenes. Earlier, her photo shoot with a baby bump also leaked online. Alia tries out for the role of Keya Dhawan in Art of Stone. Directed by Tom Harper, the film also stars Jamie Dornan, Sophie Okonedo, Matthias Schweighöfer, Jing Lusi and Paul Ready. It will be released on Netflix.
