It has been more than 35 years since The Goonies dated fan-favorite Chunk, played by Jeff Cohen, who seems completely unrecognizable these days.
The 48-year-old is still in the entertainment business, but as a partner at entertainment law firm Cohen Gardner LLP.
Jeff has previously shared that he didn’t give up on acting, but rather gave up.
Talk with the Daily Mail in 2015 to celebrate The Goonies‘ 30th birthday, he revealed he left Hollywood when he stopped being able to put himself forward in ‘fat kid roles’.

“There were basically about four fat kids in town, so every time there was a fat kid role, you saw the same people auditioning,” the former actor explained at the time.
“It was survival of the fattest. But when I hit puberty, it was the end of my career. I was going from chunk to hunk and I couldn’t have any more roles.”
“It was terrible. My first love was comedy, but puberty gave me other ideas. It was a forced retirement. I didn’t give up acting. Comedy abandoned me.”
After The GooniesJeff worked in the 1987 TV show Popeye and his sonand voiced Grunt in the film Scooby-Doo and the School of Ghouls.
His last acting gig was in the TV movie Perfect harmony in 1991.
Although he may not have continued playing, Jeff still has a lot of fans commenting on his Instagram account, with one user recently writing, “Chunk is a legend! I named my guinea pig Chunk and he’s still the cutest, badass animal I’ve ever had.”
“Saw again [The Goonies] lately it’s even better as an adult,” wrote another. “Best movie!”
“I don’t think there was a single kid born in the 80s who didn’t want to be a Goonie,” wrote a third.
Although Jeff didn’t continue acting for very long, a few of the film’s stars went on to great success, including Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Ke Huy Quan, and Joe Pantoliano.
Josh Brolin, in particular, has achieved huge success in films such as Dune, Avengers: Endgame and Deadpool 2to name a few.
Sean Astin recently appeared in stranger things season two and is most famous for his role as Samwise Gamgee in the the Lord of the Rings movies.
