And the best Android phone of 2022…

[ad_1]

2022 is almost in the books. In the Android world, this was solid enough. Google has made good phones, Samsung has made tons of good phones, and even OnePlus has given us something to talk about. Given that we still have a dwindling number of Android OEMs, we don’t necessarily have a dwindling list of good phone options to choose from, and we’re grateful for that.

Previously, we chose only a couple of devices for selection. In an attempt to shed light on more good things this year, we have a list of devices we wanted to talk about. With that said, let’s get to it.

These are our favorite Android phones of 2022!

Budget POTYs: Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro

Pixel 7 Pro - Pixel 7

I hope this choice does not surprise anyone. These are amazing phones. While the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were good choices in 2021, Google was really keen to address past issues and lift this lineup up in 2022. The cameras are amazing, the hardware is great and the software performance is very good. Basically, these are Google’s perfect phones, and we talked about it in our reviews.

While in years past it seemed easy to just pick the “Pro” model of any device, in the case of the Pixel 7, it might even be the best option for most people. Although it lacks one of the camera sensors that the Pro offers, the Pixel 7’s size and feel in the hand is really nice, plus every other feature is nearly identical. Considering you can get the Pixel 7 for just $499 right now ($100 off), that’s a phenomenal price for such a good phone.

Pixel 7 or Pixel 7 Pro. You can’t go wrong with any device.

No Budget POTY: Galaxy Z Fold 4

Got money to spend on a sweet phone? Then this Galaxy Z Fold 4 is for you, a very fashionable device with a price to match. The main takeaway is that Samsung’s foldable devices continue to improve year after year. On top of that, prices are also going down and down, so at this rate we should be looking pretty solid around 2026 or so.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a great set of cameras, solid and amazing hardware, and a software warranty that keeps Samsung the king of Android updates. In my review, I highlight overall performance as an important factor in my attachment to this device. It’s still holding on. The phone is incredibly slick with all that RAM and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, plus Samsung’s One UI continues to get better. If you’re looking for a fun phone to welcome the new year into, get yourself a Z Fold 4.

Galaxy Z Flip 4

Galaxy S22 Ultra OnePlus 10 Pro release date

In typical Android fashion, there are too many good phones to limit our choices. While the Pixel 7 line and Galaxy Z Fold 4 may have been our top favorites of the year, Samsung had a few other phones that are definitely worth mentioning, as well as OnePlus.

Samsung’s other foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 4, is the foldable phone we think most people should consider if they get into the world of foldable phones. This is a really good phone. If folding doesn’t bother you, there’s the Galaxy S22 range, from the tiny Galaxy S22 to the monster Galaxy S22 Ultra, which are fantastic devices. From OnePlus, we really liked the OnePlus 10 Pro and should not be overlooked.
