If you’re a fan of the horror genre, give it a go Adhura A watch that is guaranteed to give you goosebumps! recommends Namrata Thakker.

After school of lieswe have another webseries set in south india which is about an elite boarding school and how children are being bullied in these facilities.

But that’s where the similarities between the two shows end.

While the former dealt with child abuse, Adhura addresses bullying.

Ten-year-old Vedant Malik (Shrenik Arora) is new to Nilgiri Valley School and finds it difficult to adapt as he is constantly bullied by his classmates.

The death of Dean Vyas creates a spooky atmosphere at the boarding school, and soon there are rumors that Vedant is possessed by Vyas’ ghost.

But why?

Well, after a certain bullying incident, Vedant starts behaving differently. He is no longer afraid and there is someone to help him fight the tyrants.

The creators divulge the big secret right away, and we know it’s the enraged spirit of former student Ninad Raman (Poojan Chhabra) that possessed Vedant.

Since Ninad was also bullied by his fellow human beings, he comes to Vedant’s aid.

But the story has much more to offer.

Ninad seeks revenge.

When Nilgiri High School decides to host a class reunion for the class of 2007, Ninad gets his chance.

As soon as his best friend Adhiraj (Ishwak Singh) and other colleagues arrive to meet up, mysterious events take their course.

During the three-day reunion, two of Ninad’s comrades die on campus.

Then the creepiness actually begins and it feels like a horror show.

Until then, fears are pretty high and low as creators rely heavily on common tricks. In fact, things escalate in the last three episodes.

storywise, Adhura is predictable, but what makes it exciting is the way it’s told and acted out.

The first few episodes seem a little slow, but the good performances make up for it.

Shrenik Arora is really good as a Vedant and manages to scare you with his piercing gaze and smirk.

Ishwak Singh and Rasika Dugal, who plays Vedant’s school counselor, don’t disappoint either.

Zoa Morani and Poojan Chhabra are decent.

The school where the series was filmed adds a lot of character and has an eerie feel throughout.

Adhura is not free from loopholes.

It’s bizarre how Supriya can work as a school counselor when she herself is dealing with personal loss and needs therapy.

Or why is Vedant aka Ninad going on a killing spree in a hospital where he is admitted for no reason?

If you’re a fan of the horror genre, give it a go Adhura A watch that is guaranteed to give you goosebumps!
