Will Poulter’s Body Transformation Is More Striking Than Most Considering He Was Completely A Teenager When He Escaped Hollywood We are the Millers. Now, he’s a bona fide heartthrob, but the road to star-studded sex appeal was trickier than you might think.
THE Guardians of the Galaxy The series is full of extremely impressive body transformations. In fact, series star Chris Pratt recently revealed how he had to give up his four burgers a day diet to get into superhero shape before entering the highly acclaimed Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Now Will Poulter – who could have burst with We are the Millers but has more recently appeared in widely acclaimed films like Midsommar And The ghost – has also joined the MCU to take on the role of caped superhero Adam Warlock in the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
However, Poulter’s role isn’t the only thing that has caught the media’s attention since the film was announced last year. The 30-year-old British star’s unprecedented physical transformation has made him the viral subject of thirst tweets and internet articles galore…

Talk to The New York Times, Poulter explains how he was once bullied for his looks. It’s safe to say he’s come a long way since playing the skinny, geeky types that defined the early years of his career: after many hours in the gym and a very supportive final push until puberty, Poulter is now 6’2, has thick blonde hair and is – most importantly – absolutely shredded.
However, Poulter’s transformation, following in the footsteps of fellow British dorks-turned-dreamboats Nicholas Hoult and Dev Patel, has not been without its challenges. “It’s kind of weird because I kind of shaped my personality around a certain appearance,” he admits.
“Psychologically, I’m still 5’4 because that’s what I was in school. Even being tall is something I’m still getting used to!

In fact, the actor finds some people’s responses to his transformation quite annoying. “People act like I played Kenny Miller in 2013 and then I woke up and now I look like me, like there’s some weird, mystical explanation behind it,” he said, before to add that he “just grew up, like all the other human beings on Earth.
Poulter is acutely aware of the larger media landscape when it comes to all things body:
“There’s a lot of pressure on young men and women about body image.”

That’s a big part of why he believes honesty is a crucial and often underrepresented part of the transformation process: “If you’re going to promote the process by which you achieved said body goal, I think you need to be fully transparent about how you got there.
Some non-believers have even gone so far as to accuse the actor of having had plastic surgery, but Poulter openly explains that “there is no way I could have regained the shape I had if I had not worked for a number of years prior and built foundations”.
Such accusations are a shame, given that as a pre-teen growing up in Hammersmith, London, Poulter quickly realized acting was a safe and carefree space for him. He would spend his entire week looking forward to Friday morning drama class, a place where he could relax, be himself, and explore his already evident creativity.
In fact, it was that same safe space that launched his now meteoric career after acting teachers encouraged him to audition for an independent comedy. Son of Rambow which, of course, he landed on the first try… Despite his barely twelve years old.
So let this be a lesson to all of us: Just because you grew up looking silly and clumsy doesn’t mean it always has to be that way, but if your heart is bent on changing the way you look, don’t be discouraged. . by social media trendsetters and naysayers.
Most importantly, if you’re an enterprising young bully at school, don’t pick on the boy with the funny eyebrows. You never know where it might end up.
