San Francisco, Jul 24 (IANS) Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is widely rolling out app interface improvements, aligned with Material Design 3, to the Android beta. Rounded menus are now available to more users, along with the bottom navigation bar and new floating action button, reports WABetaInfo.
Additionally, further interface improvements are available with the release of the new rounded alerts and redesigned toggles.
The redesigned chat tab and floating action button are also deployed to represent an incoming message bubble.
“With this update, many more users will be able to experience the latest interface enhancements that align with Material Design 3 guidelines,” the report says.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the messaging platform was working on an animated avatar feature for the Android beta to improve user interactions.
Animated avatars will likely bring more life and personality to stickers, allowing for a more expressive communication experience.
Last month, it was reported that the messaging platform was rolling out a feature to the Android beta that allows users to send high-quality videos.
Although this feature preserves the dimensions of the video, minor compression will still be applied to the video, so it is not possible to send videos in their original quality.
The default option will always be “Standard Quality” for all videos. Therefore, users should select the high quality option whenever they want to send a video with better quality.
Additionally, a tag will be added to the message bubble when sending a video with the high quality option to let the recipient know that the video is being sent using this feature.
