Latest Technology News: Weekly Poll Results: The Nothing Phone (2) Is Great, But It&

The results of last week’s poll can be summarized as follows: the Nothing Phone (2) is a good phone, but its price is too high. Nothings decision to stick close to stock Android was welcomed, in fact there was a lively discussion about the benefits of a lean UI. That said, most of the arguments for and against the phone centered around the price.

People were talking about the Galaxy S23 and Pixel 7 phones, how much they cost in their region at launch and how much they cost now. Both series are cheaper now, of course, and Nothing may need to cut its ambitious price tag if it wants to be competitive.

Nearly 4 in 10 voters think $600/560/680/45,000 is too high for what the phone (2) has to offer and what it doesn’t. Not having a telephoto lens in this price range is definitely a downside.

The price issue is most acute in regions like Europe and Canada. In Canada, for example, the base model is C$930, while a direct conversion from the US price gives C$790.

Nothing has made the choice for this generation to increase the screen size to 6.7. Like Carl Pei himself Put the: Contrary to what one might believe living in the echo chamber, very few people buy small phones. And it seems he was right, only 10% of voters skip the Telephone (2) because of its size.

Anyway, we mentioned the lack of a tele camera, but the phone has several upgrades over its predecessor, an LTPO panel for the display, a higher class of chipset and battery improvements. However, reviewers found it hard to focus on these upgrades when the price puts the phone (2) so close to flagship territory.

Even so, around a quarter of voters will be looking to buy a Nothing(2) phone because it’s just the right combination of hardware and software for them and they’re willing to pay the price.
