Seattle: Body camera footage released by prosecutors and partially released by PubliCola on Thursday revealed new details of the death of an Indian student by a high-speed car driven by a Seattle police officer. Seattle Duty Policeman Kevin Dave drove his car into Jaahnavi Kandula, an Indian student studying on the Northeastern Universitys Seattle campus on January 23. The latest body camera footage captures the exact moment of the fatal crash as well as the reaction of the cop who was driving the car.

Footage showed the 23-year-old Northeastern University graduate student crossing the road at a designated crosswalk when a high-speed car hit her. The visuals also revealed that the cop failed to deploy his siren to warn others of the urgent nature of the situation.

At the time of the crash, Officer Kevin Dave was responding to a “high priority” call and driving his car at 74mph. Speed ​​limits at the intersection of Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street are 25 and 20 mph respectively.

Immediately after the crash, body camera video showed the officer performing CPR on Kandula. I messed up, Dave was heard saying after the fatal incident at the intersection of Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street.
