Friday evening, Timothée Chalamet stole the show at the Venice Film Festival during the preview of his new film Cannibals in love bones and all while wearing a bright red sparkly halterneck suit. The blood red look came with a matching scarf and was created by designer Haider Ackerman. Chalamet paired the outfit with dark leather boots with a low heel and wore a pair of black cat-eye sunglasses as he walked down the red carpet.
The film is directed by Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, who featured Chalamet as one of the main protagonists in his award-winning hit, call me by your name.
“The second I read it, I said, I think only Timothy can play this role,” Guadagnino said. in an interview. “He’s fantastic, a great performer and to see him soar the way he does now, I’m proud of him. And this character is something very new to him, both endearing and heartbreaking.”
Variety reports this bones and all was well received by the public during the screening, and that it does indeed include a certain graphic cannibalism. He apparently received an 8.5-minute standing ovation and viewers outside the event chanted the director’s name.
But people who have only seen Chalamet and not the film reacted to her playful ensemble on Twitter, reveling in the edgy fashion choices on display in Venice.
A generous look is one that everyone can have fun with. Chalamet tends to make bold fashion choices on the red carpet and has recently sported more neutral and feminine looks, like the women’s black Louis Vuitton jacket he wore to this year’s Oscars. In this case, it showed a lot more skin in front.
bones and all hits theaters on November 23, and Chalamet gave fans plenty of inspiration for what they could wear to see it.
