June 1 is just around the corner and there’s a good chance that Motorola will announce a new Razr foldable flip phone for the US. While Moto has ignored the US in the past, their social media accounts are hinting at an upcoming return to the States.

So, since we might be getting this new Razr, we thought we should point out that thanks to a significant leak from the retailer, we’re getting all the images that Motorola usually shares at launch, leaving few surprises. Now we know some characteristics.

Before we dive into that, one thing to note is branding. In accordance with @evleaks, Motorola may call it “Razr+” in the US, even if overseas retailers call it “Razr 40 Ultra”. And it makes sense if you look at other Moto launches. For example, the recent Motorola Edge+ (2023) is known as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in China and other countries.

big leak comes via retailer Extra, which has listings of three Razr+ colors. It lists some specs, but they look a bit off (like it lists a dual selfie camera when it clearly has a single internal selfie camera). However, references to “Glacier Blue”, “Black” and “Viva Magenta” may well be appropriate. They also claim that the device has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. These are elements that retailers don’t usually mess with, while they often fill in gaps or use a template for other details. Some other specs suggest a 6.9-inch 1080p internal display, a 3800mAh battery, wireless charging, and Android 13.

Either way, this device looks pretty nice. Motorola has indeed expanded its Razr foldable lineup significantly since its first launch in early 2020. You all know how I felt about this phone, but it seems to have eliminated many of my complaints. I’d take it to heart to compare it to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip, which also gets better with each new release.

Again, this device should appear in official capacity on June 1st. If there is a US launch, we will do our best to let you know the finer details at that time. Since Motorola didn’t tell us a word about the Edge+ (2023) prior to its launch, I apologize now as we don’t expect to be briefed on that either. This is what it is.
