The first bus of migrants from Texas’ southern border arrived in Washington, D.C. Wednesday morning, one week after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott vowed to send migrants to the nation’s capital. in protest of President Biden’s immigration policies. However, despite Abbott’s pledge to deliver the migrants to “the steps of the United States Capitol,” they were reportedly dropped off nearby, outside Fox News’ D.C. bureau.

According to CNN, at least five of the migrants who disembarked in D.C. Wednesday said they were asylum seekers from Venezuela. They said they’d arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border on Sunday, where they were processed by federal authorities and then released from custody while their cases make their way through the immigration court system. After they were released, the migrants said they were offered a voluntary bus ride to Washington.

“Biden refuses to come see the mess he’s made at the border,” Abbott posted on Twitter, along with a link to a Fox News story about the bus’s arrival. “So Texas is bringing the border to him.”

  1. We gonna just use people as political pawns? It’s great to see how little he thinks of human beings.

  2. What is this travesty doing in the Governor’s seat of such a great state as Texas? Texans are known from the past as protectors of the simple and decent folks of this country, of an ever adapting Democracy

  3. That’s ok. Refugees and immigrants bring so much to our world. Canada has dozens and dozens of awards, science, etc, from immigrants. I live in the worlds largest settlement of immigrants in Toronto Canada. The amount of support we all got through covid, I’d take a stranger from a far away land, than someone who things another human being is a burden. That’s what pro life means.

  4. Honestly what’s wrong with that guy he should be removed from his seat , cause he doesn’t represent the good people of Texas he only thinks of himself
