Prepaid is usually one of the types of plans you sign up for because you need payment flexibility when using your wireless carrier or because you’re not sure what the future holds. But what if you could lock in a super low prepaid price with extra data by paying more money up front? AT&T hopes this sounds attractive.

For a limited time, AT&T Prepaid is running a prepaid plan deal that gives you 16GB of high-speed data to use every month for a really tasty price of $25/month. However, there is a small snag here. To get such a low price, you actually have to pay for 12 months of service, so you are really paying $300 today.

This particular plan usually only has 8GB of data, so AT&T doubles it down to 16GB and then drops the price drastically. Verizon’s comparable plans include 15GB of data for $50/month, while the closest T-Mobile plan has 10GB of data for $40/month. Here you can see how good AT&T’s deal plan is if you want to pay them $300 today.

This 16GB prepaid plan from AT&T includes HD streaming (1080p), data transfer, mobile hotspot, talk/text/data in Mexico and Canada, and unlimited texting in over 230 countries. It also has unlimited US talking and texting just like any other plan.

The $300 or $25 per month deal will run for a while (October), so if you don’t have $300 today, you have time to think. You can make a purchase on the AT&T website.
