Last year, Google announced that Google Assistant and Google Calendar reminders would be moving to a new home inside Google Tasks through a migration. Well, that hasn’t changed since Google provides a timeline of what users can expect.

This migration can happen in three different ways, all depending on the type of Google account you have: workspace client, Google account through work or school, and personal Google account. We highlight the personal account scenario below as it seems to be the most appropriate for our readers.

If you are using Google with a personal account:

  • Starting March 6, 2023, Assistant and Calendar will ask you to move reminders created in these apps to Tasks.
  • If you haven’t migrated yet, Assistant and Calendar reminders will automatically migrate in the second quarter. We will share more information about this timeline in a future update on the Workspace Updates blog.

As Google explains, once the migration is complete, users will be able to view and manage all tasks in one place: Tasks. A blog post on the subject details: “You’ll be able to use Tasks features such as organizing tasks with multiple lists and adding descriptions for additional organization. Tasks can be accessed online in Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Chat, making it easy to create tasks without having to switch between tabs or apps. If you’re using Assistant, you’ll also be able to create tasks directly from Assistant.”

March, 6. Mark on your calendars.
