Apple has put a lot of effort into making its early list of original Apple TV+ shows something for everyone. All the company needed was one breakthrough to put the service on the line.
While the quality was good, none of the shows had that “everybody’s talking about it” quality until almost a year after Apple TV+’s debut, one show came along that were not very well promoted, became a hit. Combining politeness and good humor with football seems like a recipe that will never work in the US, but Ted Lasso still managed to charm everyone. The show immediately became the most watched show on Apple TV+.
The first season received 20 Emmy Award nominations and won seven. The second season also received 20 nominations and won four. After a long break Ted Lasso is finally back for its third and possibly final season. Here’s everything we know about it so far.

Apple
Will this be the last season Ted Lasso?
Looks like it! In an interview with Deadline, the show’s star Jason Sudeikis said, “This is the end of the story we wanted to tell, the story we hoped to tell, the story we loved to tell.” Sudeikis seems to be open to the idea of a spin-off.
Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent and is also the writer and producer of the series, was quoted in a The Times UK article as saying that the series was always intended to be three seasons, a sentiment echoed by Sudeikis and Brendan Hunt (Bird’s coach). When asked if the third season would be the last, he said, “That’s the way we write it.”
But none of Apple’s promotional material hails Season 3 as a grand finale. Ted Lasso. However, Apple has also not announced that the show has been renewed for a fourth season, which also seems odd given the show’s popularity and rumors of a final season.
It appears that Apple and the show’s creators may not have been prepared for how successful and beloved the show would be, and it would likely only require minor tweaks to the season 3 finale to leave the door open for future seasons.
