After her critically acclaimed role as Lucia in the second season of The White LotusSimona Tabasco has joined Sydney Sweeney in the cast of the upcoming psychological horror movie Immaculate.

The movie will see Euphoria star Sweeney playing Cecilia “a devout woman of faith who is offered a fulfilling new role in an illustrious Italian convent. Her warm welcome to the picture-perfect Italian countryside is soon cut short as it becomes clearer to Cecilia that her new home holds dark secrets and horrible.

Italian actress Tabasco made her American debut in the second season of The White Lotus, the HBO anthology series that saw Sweeney receive an Emmy nomination for its first season. She was also seen recently in Netflix’s Italian drama series Luna Park.

Immaculate is directed by Michael Mohan (who previously directed Sweeney in Amazon’s erotic thriller The Voyeurs) from a screenplay by writer Andrew Lobel, features a cast that also includes Álvaro Morte, Benedetta Porcaroli, Dora Romano and Giorgio Colangeli.
