New Delhi,UPDATED: July 25, 2023 10:10 IST

By Ankita Chakraborty: The management of Realme has undergone significant changes with the departure of Indian leader Madhav Sheth. Now it has been revealed that several senior executives and 15 other employees have also left the company. They are expected to join HonorTech, led by Sheth, in India.

Dipesh Punamiya, who was in charge of offline sales at Realme, has now become Assistant Vice President (AVP) at HonorTech, according to the IANS report. Similarly, Sanjeev Kumar, who was responsible for online sales at realme, also held a senior position in Sheth’s new company.
According to sources, more than 15 employees from different departments of Realme have decided to join HonorTech. Madhav Sheth aims to revive the Honor brand in India through this new venture.

Exciting news is on the horizon as HonorTech plans to shake up the Indian smartphone market with the launch of a new device. This should happen around late August or early September, just in time for the holiday season.

Prior to this, Madhav Sheth was actively involved in Realme, where he held several prominent positions including CEO of Realme India, Vice President and President of Realme International Business Group.

In the past, the Honor smartphone business was owned by a Chinese company called Huawei. However, in 2020 Huawei sold it to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co Ltd, also based in China. Honor made it clear in 2022 that it has no plans to exit the Indian market. The company expanded into the laptop segment in India and introduced a range of wearables.

Despite these changes, Honor still has a significant presence in India, including its service centers, which are essential in providing support to its customers.

With the likes of Dipesh Punamiya and Sanjeev Kumar on board, and the exciting launch of a new device, HonorTech looks set to make its mark on the Indian smartphone industry, giving consumers more choice and innovation to look forward to.

Madhav Sheths leaves Realme

After five years at the helm of Realme India and building the brand from the ground up in the country, Madhav Sheth, the CEO, officially stepped down in June. Realme founder Sky Li will now take over the Indian market. Sheth will remain a strategic advisor to the company but plans to start his own export business. He expressed his continued support for Realme, saying he would nurture the brand aside and offer strategic advice for development, global product observations, market insights and operations.
