Along with the new Google Pixel March update with Pixel Feature Drop merchandise and nearly 50 bug fixes, Pixel Watch owners should also keep an eye out for the new software. Now that Google has its own support hours, it’s been good to update them every month, and March is no different.

The new update, at least according to Verizon, is rolling out to the watch as build RWDA.230114.008.R1. The release date should be today, March 13th.

Google has yet to say anything about this update, with Verizon only saying that it includes “the very latest Android security patches.” That’s not all that surprising, since this month’s Pixel Feature Drop barely touches the Pixel Watch and only mentions two things.

First, this update should bring with it Fall Detection, a feature that Google previously announced a couple of weeks ago. Another item is in the sound and display settings. Google says you’ll soon be able to easily “customize the audio and visual effects on your Pixel Watch.” This means you will be able to use “mono audio to reduce the disorientation that can be caused by split audio, while new color correction and grayscale modes better optimize display for a wider range of visual preferences.” Careful.

For those who want to get the update right away, try this old Wear OS update trick. It has worked for several updates in a row and downloads Pixel Watch updates immediately, even if the watch first tells you that there are none.
