Latest Technology News: Oppo Reno 10 Pro review: is it worth it? Know the pros and cons
Oppo Reno 10 Pro Review: It seems that tech companies don’t really like the number 9. Windows skipped the 9, as did the iPhone. So Oppo thought, why not skip the 9 too?
We are here with the Oppo Reno 10 Pro review. While its unique digital advancement may intrigue some, what sets it apart is its affordable price, complete with telephoto lens.
Oppo Reno 10 Pro design
Still the highlight of the Reno series, the design of this phone does not disappoint. The curved glass sandwich design gives it an elegant look. Although the frame is plastic, it blends perfectly with the premium feel.
The sandwich glass design is curved front and back. The frame is plastic, but you won’t notice it as it gels nicely with the overall premium feel. The front side of this phone is protected by Dragontrail Star 2 tempered glass, the back side has no protection.
The large, eye-catching camera island shows Oppo’s focus on the Oppo Reno 10 Pro’s camera capabilities. The Samsung-inspired purple color also adds a vibrant touch. On the front, you’ll notice slim bezels that complement the curved screen nicely.

Oppo Reno 10 Pro Utility
Oppo Reno 10 Pro specs include 5G dual SIM functionality. Although it lacks expandable storage, it comes standard with 256GB of internal storage.
The phone houses an in-screen optical fingerprint reader, which provided average performance in testing. The phone also includes an IR Blaster.
Oppo Reno 10 Pro screen
The 6.7-inch curved OLED screen is really good in terms of vibrancy and viewing angles. It has FHD+ resolution and is Widevine L1 and HDR10+ certified.
It also has an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz, however, many apps, including popular ones like Chrome and Youtube, only run at 60 or 90Hz, which can be quite shocking.
The screen has a maximum brightness of 950 nits, which is not the best in the segment, not enough nevertheless.
Cameras Oppo Reno 10 Pro
The Oppo Reno 10 Pro camera setup includes 3 usable rear cameras, each offering unique photo and video capabilities. These include an optically stabilized 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
Let’s start with the main sensor. It produces very good photos, however, its color science is rather unpredictable – some photos are bright, while others are rich in contrast.
In low light, this camera doesn’t over-brighten photos and tries to preserve the authentic mood of the scene. It can be a feature you love or hate, depending on your preference.
1080p videos from the main camera are stable with impressive dynamic range, but 4K videos disappoint in terms of stabilization.

The 32MP telephoto lens follows a familiar theme – you can’t quite predict whether it will brighten up photos or make them rich in contrast. Oppo also needs to fix the big difference in color processing between the two sensors.
That being said, edge detection in 2x portraits is pretty good. Anyway, the telephoto lens also allows digital zoom up to 20x, which works well given there’s enough sunlight.
And that’s the problem, the telephoto lens needs a lot of natural light to work properly. Otherwise, the phone quickly switches to its main camera for a 2x digital crop.
The ultra-wide camera, like other mid-range 8MP ultra-wide cameras, is decent enough for social media photos, but don’t expect it to produce anything stunning. However, the 32MP front camera produces impressive photos with good colors and dynamic range.
Oppo Reno 10 Pro Performance and Software
Powered by a Snapdragon 778G chipset, the Oppo Reno 10 Pro processor might look dated, but this phone isn’t targeting the power-hungry user. The 778G is still a proven chipset with many applications well optimized for it. It can play Call of Duty at maximum frame rate with high graphics settings. However, keep in mind that you are getting Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phones at this price.
Software-wise, you get Color OS 13.1 built on top of Android 13. The overall performance of this software is quite fast and it is well helped by 12GB of standard built-in RAM.
Sadly, everything Color OS is infamous for is still present on this phone. This includes bloatware, spam notifications, hot apps and game folders, and more. You can disable most of these nuances, but they shouldn’t exist on a high-end midrange phone.
Oppo Reno 10 Pro battery life
The battery life of the Oppo Reno 10 Pro is impressive, with its 4600 mAh capacity ensuring all-day use. You can expect to spend 6-7 hours in front of a screen each day. With the included adapter and 80W charging power, you can get a full charge in about half an hour, which is awesome.
Oppo Reno 10 Pro Price in India
The Oppo Reno 10 Pro is priced at Rs 39,999 in India but can be further discounted with various bank offers, which adds to its appeal.
Oppo Reno 10 Pro Verdict
Although the features of the Oppo Reno 10 Pro might not be the most powerful in its segment, it is aimed at those looking for an aesthetically pleasing smartphone with a versatile camera setup.
