Latest Technology News: Open AI CEO thinks ‘Oppenheimer’ failed to inspire

Twitter boss Elon Musk agreed with his opinion

The biopic of Robert Oppenheimer, the mind behind the world’s first atomic bomb, was released on Friday. The film highlights the dilemma that advancing technology poses for scientists working on the Manhattan Project, which requires a healthy dose of quantum physics and complex science.

As fans around the world flock to theaters hailing the film as a “masterpiece”, the CEO of Open AI doesn’t seem to have the same opinion. Sam Altman, in a tweet, expressed his disappointment, saying he hoped the film would inspire kids to pursue physics, but it “really missed the mark.”

He wrote, “I was hoping Oppenheimer’s film would inspire a generation of kids to become physicists, but it really missed the mark. let’s make this movie! ” He then praised the film ‘Social Network’ and said he ” managed to do this for startup founders.”

Twitter boss Elon Musk agreed with her opinion and wrote: “Indeed.”

While a few resonated with his thoughts, many disagreed with him and instead researched AI and ChatGPT, and the Social Network movie.

One user wrote, “The social network is an unfortunately brilliant representation of how innovative people can act in selfish and harmful ways while still moving forward.”

Another commented: “Generating a new alternate version of Oppenheimer that inspires the viewer to become a physicist. Change the script and scenes if necessary. Try to keep the plot as close to the original as possible.

A third wrote: “Someone should make a movie to inspire kids about the pitfalls of AI.”

The film opened to rave reviews from film critics. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave the film 4.5 out of 5 stars and he wrote, “Oppenheimer, a blindingly brilliant cinematic achievement, achieves a sublime combination of visual grandeur, technical flair, emotional intimacy and an examination of the limits of human effort and ambition.”
