Latest Technology News: Microsoft makes Bing AI available for Chrome and Safari

Ever since Microsoft announced its GPT-4 powered generative AI model, Bing AI, it has proven to be one of the best ChatGPT alternatives on the market. However, Bing AI was limited in scope and usability because it was not available only through Microsoft products. And based on the latest reveal, it looks like that’s about to change. See the details below.
Access Bing Chat from Chrome and Safari browsers!
Based on the latest report by latest Windows, Microsoft’s Bing AI chatbot now makes its way into Google Chrome on Windows 11 as well as Safari on Mac. With this rollout, Microsoft is eliminating one of Bing AI’s biggest availability limitations. Previously, if you wanted to use the AI chatbot, you had to visit Microsoft Edge or the Bing app, which is an unnecessary inconvenience.
With this integration, a new a pop-up window will appear on your Windows 10 and 11 taskbar which will allow you to experience Bing directly in the Chrome browser. A similar pop-up should also appear on your Mac or Safari browser. The AI chatbot is being rolled out with a light theme and a dark theme. The Bing AI interface on Chrome resembles its Edge counterpart.
Now, although Bing AI is rolling out to two of the most popular browsers, functionality is limited compared to its Edge counterpart, at least for now. For example, in Chrome, Bing AI only supports up to five messages per conversation. However, if you are using Bing AI on Microsoft Edge, you will be able to enter thirty messages per conversation. Along the same lines, it also limits the number of characters to 2000 while on Edge it can reach 4000. Also, even though Microsoft has made it available to other browsers, it still does not allow users to use the chatbot with peace of mind. A constant context menu appears as indicated by the Latest version of Windows report, which will ask you to switch to Microsoft Edge for best results.
Now remember that deployment is limited. So, in case you haven’t received such a pop-up, there’s no need to panic as Bing AI is expected to roll out more widely in the coming weeks. We look forward to trying out the new Bing AI integration in Chrome and Safari browsers as soon as it becomes available to us. Meanwhile, if this feature is already available for you, share your experience in the comment section below.
