Members of Congress who filled the House Chamber for President Biden’s first State of the Union address Tuesday showed their support for Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing invasion by giving a standing ovation to the country’s ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarov, who was in the audience.

Markarov was invited to attend the speech by first lady Jill Biden. And she was introduced by the president at the beginning of his address.

“Let each of us here tonight in this chamber send an unmistakable signal to Ukraine and to the world,” Biden said. “Please rise if you are able and show that, yes, we the United States of America stand with the Ukrainian people.”

Many lawmakers wore yellow and blue, the official colors of Ukraine, and even waved small Ukrainian flags. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, sitting behind Biden, wore a pin featuring the Ukrainian and American flags.

  2. Biden was wonderful! It was disgusting and embarrassing to see how Marjorie Taylor Greene and that other lunatic from Colorado heckle him. They are both disgusting and should not have any place in our government. They have the intelligence of a gnat and the mouth of an poorly raised spoiled brat
