Kelvin Harrison Jr. is currently making musical magic as talented violinist Joseph Bologna, Chevalier de Saint-Georges in the movie “Knight”. The 28-year-old actor has been steadily building his resume for some time now, appearing in hits like ‘Elvis’ and ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’, but ‘Chevalier’ – which hit theaters on April 21 — is set to be his biggest star turn yet.
Bologna was a French violinist and composer who worked to take over the management of the Paris Opera at the start of the French Revolution. Harrison Jr. himself is a talented musician and plays violin, jazz and gospel piano and trumpet, in addition to being a singer. For his role in “Chevalier,” however, he had to take his violin skills to a new level. A violinist named Ronald Long was originally brought in to be Harrison Jr.’s double – but Long ended up teaching Harrison Jr. to play in just two months, by Classic FM.
Clearly a virtuoso in more ways than one, Harrison Jr. has a lot going for him in the future. He’s set to voice Scar in the Lion King prequel ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ and is also set to star alongside Murray Bartlett and Sadie Sink in the post-apocalyptic rock opera “Odessa.”
Ahead, check out the most notable movies and TV shows he’s appeared in so far.
