  1. David Bowie: 'To me, the sound of the band (The Velvet Underground) was John Cale. That was confirmed a few years later when I worked with Lou on Transformer. John was the subversive element of the band, one of the most underrated musicians in rock history. That guy is a danger, a true character. '

  2. John, please release some of recordings from Pickwick session, jam sessions with Angus and Tony and other pre-VU stuff. You certainly still have unreleased tapes in your vault.

  3. I’m consistently impressed by Cale. His solo career has been fantastic. His music feels urgent and modern. His voice is still excellent. Play on!!

  4. It is puzzling and surprising to discover John was present, when famous photos of Bowie meeting Bryan Ferry and Bowie’s birthday party with Iggy were taken back in 70s. He was always cropped out from publicity photos for no apparent reason. John himself was even nagging he was cut out from the photo of being with Talking Heads in his book. Glad he finally gets the recognition he has long deserved.

  5. In hindsight, Bowie’d have invited John to play piano or bass for a couple of tracks on his Berlin trilogy, since he’s worked with Cale’s associates, Eno, Lou and Iggy. Bowie even covered Jonathan Richman song, Pablo Picasso in later years. The friendship between two never live up to the promise!

  6. Just turned 36, and the older I get, the deeper my love for music becomes, and along with it, my appreciation for Mr. Cale.

  7. Looking forward to hearing the new release. This sounds great. Not much going on in the video though. Two monumental artists. Cool that they got to hang out. Bowie had a knack for seeking out the best talent around. Did they ever work together?..

  8. I really wanted to like this but after a couple of listens it sounds kind of dull. If this is supposed to be a song about hanging out with David Bowie back in the day doing drugs and burning down the streets it seems like a pretty boring time.

  9. Nice Animation, But It's sad that it just repeats over and over. Under 2min of Footage ;( Cheers 2 Domino for Signing Good Music in a Sea of Mediocre waves that is the Mainstream.
