Nice 70's cartoon vibe. And this sounds like something an artist in their 20's or 30's would make. Not every musician/singer grows stale with age.
David Bowie: 'To me, the sound of the band (The Velvet Underground) was John Cale. That was confirmed a few years later when I worked with Lou on Transformer. John was the subversive element of the band, one of the most underrated musicians in rock history. That guy is a danger, a true character. '
John, please release some of recordings from Pickwick session, jam sessions with Angus and Tony and other pre-VU stuff. You certainly still have unreleased tapes in your vault.
Terrific song and terrific video, although I would’ve preferred they told a story through the animation as opposed to looping the first minute. Oh well…
Ralph Bakshi presents: Hanky Panky Nowhow
I love it…. An eternal night crawl, what you both must have seen and heard… Xxx
I’m consistently impressed by Cale. His solo career has been fantastic. His music feels urgent and modern. His voice is still excellent. Play on!!
Looks like a Ralph Bakshi movie
It is puzzling and surprising to discover John was present, when famous photos of Bowie meeting Bryan Ferry and Bowie’s birthday party with Iggy were taken back in 70s. He was always cropped out from publicity photos for no apparent reason. John himself was even nagging he was cut out from the photo of being with Talking Heads in his book. Glad he finally gets the recognition he has long deserved.
Cale had a beer, but not Bowie.
Cool video although strange it repeats itself, boring tuneless song reminiscent of my least favourite Cale album “Nooky Woods”.
Muito legal…
Beautiful Armony 🖤
New favorite song
In hindsight, Bowie’d have invited John to play piano or bass for a couple of tracks on his Berlin trilogy, since he’s worked with Cale’s associates, Eno, Lou and Iggy. Bowie even covered Jonathan Richman song, Pablo Picasso in later years. The friendship between two never live up to the promise!
Cale is still so impeccably cool!
Miles Davis: On The Corner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIqXprCArdo
Wow. I love it.
Love it. Absolutely love it. Like a B-side from Hobosapiens…look forward to seeing this live in October.
this animation video is brilliant <3 i am in love <3 <3 <3
Neat
COOL!!!
great work!!!
Just turned 36, and the older I get, the deeper my love for music becomes, and along with it, my appreciation for Mr. Cale.
This isn't the only new John Cale release. Almost unnoticed he contributed to the For The Birds: The Birdsong, Project Vol. III, the track being Mr Sparrow:

It only has very few views, so I hope you enjoy it too, and share it.
New lp coming ??
How cool is that?
Great tune!
Is it repeating because…is it repeating because… is it repeating because…
This makes me very happy indeed. Thank you!
Looking forward to hearing the new release. This sounds great. Not much going on in the video though. Two monumental artists. Cool that they got to hang out. Bowie had a knack for seeking out the best talent around. Did they ever work together?..
I really wanted to like this but after a couple of listens it sounds kind of dull. If this is supposed to be a song about hanging out with David Bowie back in the day doing drugs and burning down the streets it seems like a pretty boring time.
cale with bowie, it's perfect
John Cale, being a failson, but still winning.
Nice Animation, But It's sad that it just repeats over and over. Under 2min of Footage ;( Cheers 2 Domino for Signing Good Music in a Sea of Mediocre waves that is the Mainstream.
Love Cale, but you all are delusional, sucks pretty bad, nostalgia is dangerous drug
great!
Never knew Hanna Barbera can get THAT trippy
Iggy's Nightcrawling is much better.. this sounds like Michael Brook's RockPaperScissors – just weaker; and the animation is silly
Great song. The enthusiasm about the animation I do not understand… it would be ok if it wasn't 3 times repeating the same thing.
Sensational as ever. Thank you yet again Maestro.
Great job on the animation, I love it 🙂
John Cale. Absolutely fkn genius art… Löv the vid ♪📺♪ thanks 人☯♡
Incredible <3
0:33 Homer?
🎶 Great tune. 🎨 Amazing animation. ⚡Bowie and Cale. Masterpiece! 🎶
Amazing, it's more modern than today's music.
thank you John for this amazing video with Bowie 💫⚡
