On February 19, Renner posted a video to his Instagram story – since retweeted via Jeremy Renner’s fan account @JRennerNet — of his leg under electrotherapy. It’s a bit of an odd video, if only because due to the angle and subject matter, it’s a bit difficult at first to know what you’re looking at. With The Beatles’ “Lady Madonna” playing in the background, we see Renner’s leg with several electrical knots on it as her leg muscles shake. “Electrical stimulation training and muscle strength,” reads the text.

According WebMD, the treatment featured in Renner’s video is technically known as electrical myostimulation. It is performed by placing electrodes on the skin. An electric current is sent from a battery in the electrodes through the muscles, with the aim of helping to increase muscle mass after an accident and, in turn, to help speed up the healing process.

Briefly reporting on the video, Deadline pointed out that Renner also continues to plug into his acting work as much as he can via social media. Moreover, it seems just about everyone in the MCU shoots for him. So while it looks like his recovery will be quite intense, it also looks like Renner is looking forward to getting back to work.
