We have heard a lot about how Netflix intends to prevent users from sharing their account passwords with those outside their own home. Announced today, we have a pricing alternative to exposing your password in the form of a $8 per month fee for adding additional users to your existing account.

In an email aimed directly at those who share their passwords (Netflix apparently has a way to track this behavior), the company states that “Your Netflix account is for you and the people you live with – your family,” which means they know you. was a naughty man, and it’s time to pay the piper.

From now on, Netflix subscribers will be able to use both “Profile Transfer” and this new “Additional Member” feature. When transferring a profile, anyone can transfer an existing profile to a separate account, for which they will then pay. For $8/month, you can simply add more users to your account, which technically gives you a $1/month discount over the standard ad-free plan. For those who don’t mind ads, a Netflix account starts at $6.99 per month.

I’m just saying, you guilty people need to start paying for content. Stealing is not cool, mmkey?
