New Delhi,UPDATED: Jul 24, 2023 3:58 PM IST
By Abhik Sengupta: After launching iQOO Neo 7 Pro this month and iQOO Z7 5G, iQOO revealed the launch of iQOO Z7 Pro 5G in India. Ahead of the official debut, iQOO India chief Nipun Marya confirmed that the phone will feature a curved screen. The screen will also feature a small hole for the center-aligned selfie camera. iQOO has yet to share the official launch date.
Other details of the smartphone remain unknown but we can expect the phone to fall between the iQOO Z7 and iQOO Neo 7. This means that the phone could cost around Rs 25,000 given that the more premium numbered series of the iQOO is already available in the country. The iQOO Z7 Pro may also come with upgrades over the iQOO Z7s.
As a reminder, the iQOO Z7s comes with a 6.38-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with up to 90Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, and 1300 nits peak brightness. The screen is protected by Schott Xensation Glass. The screen of the classic iQOO Z7s also features a punch-hole cutout, and the rear cameras are stacked in a standard rectangular module. As mentioned, the iQOO Z7 Pro will feature a curved display which generally feels more premium, although durability may be an issue.
The camera system of the iQOO Z7s includes a 64-megapixel main ISOCELL GW3 sensor with an f/1.79 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel front camera. The iQOO Z7 Pro could consider adding an ultra-wide camera on the back.
The iQOO Z7s also packs a 4,500mAh battery under the hood. The company has provided support for 44W charging. The package also contains a fast charger. We can expect similar practices with the iQOO Z7 Pro, although there is the possibility of faster charging support. The handset is also IP54 rated, which is what we can expect in the Pro model as well. However, there may not be a 3.5mm audio jack available on the standard model.
More importantly, we can expect a new chipset. The iQOO Z7 5G comes with a Snapdragon 695 SoC from Qualcomm. The iQOO Neo 7, on the other hand, packs a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. The price of the iQOO Z7 Pro could be around Rs 25,000, though the higher variant might be more expensive. Since the iQOO Neo 7 Pro was launched in India this month, we can expect the Z7 Pro to debut in early August.
