The release of iOS 16 and the iPhone 14 line was mostly smoothly, but there are always a few small issues that need to be ironed out. As for the new Apple phones, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models are showing a troubling camera shake issue when using certain third-party apps like Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat. Oddly enough, not everyone was affected, but videos of the bug in action flooded social media.
The bug, which affected many more users, was specific to iOS 16 on all devices. A new prompt to allow pasting an application from the clipboard (a good security measure) appeared with each trying to insert, not just the first time. Again, the bug doesn’t seem to affect everyone, but asking again and again is definitely not expected behavior.
Both of these highly publicized bugs were expected to be fixed in next week’s software update, but Apple is on a roll because iOS 16.0.2 has just been released fixing both issues and a few other smaller bugs. According to Apple’s security update site, there are no published CVE entries for iOS 16.0.2.
The release notes are as follows:
This update contains bug fixes and important security updates for your iPhone, including the following:
• The camera may vibrate and cause blurry photos when shooting with some third-party apps on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
• During device setup, the display may be completely black.
• Copying and pasting between applications may cause the permission prompt to appear more often than expected.
• VoiceOver may not be available after a reboot.
• Fixes an issue resulting in touch input not responding on some iPhone X, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 displays after service.
