George Lucas played a huge part in making “The Last Crusade” and it’s easy to see how the positive response to the film could have given him the wrong idea. The film is often claimed to be the best episode of the series due to the way it delves into Indiana’s past, deepening its character far more than the first two episodes. But while it tells us about Indy’s childhood in new and intriguing ways, it’s not the part of the film that Lucas introduced in the “Star Wars” prequels.
