Latest Kerala Local News: IIM Kozhikode to set up “India-Japan study and research”

Kozhikode: The Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode has given the green light to the proposal to establish an “India-Japan Center for Studies and Research” to improve management education and research skills in the specific areas of mutual interest between the two countries.

Announcing the Centre, Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director of the IIMK, added, “India and Japan have a long history of bilateral development cooperation. Over the years, relations between the two countries have progressed to greater heights, especially in the economic, cultural and industrial fields. Considering the current prospects of the interest of the two countries in various fields, we have established this study and research center. .”

Professor Rajib Shaw from Keio University in Japan has been appointed visiting professor to advise the IIMK on the Center’s activities in Japan. He added “I congratulate the IIMK for the establishment of this center. It will have immense potential to contribute not only to two of our countries, it can serve beyond bilateral collaboration to generate and implement new innovations”

IIM Kozhikode has continuous collaboration and links with more than 50 foreign universities for student exchange programs through international immersions. IIM Kozhikode has an institutional mission to “globalize Indian thought” and aims to expand the institute’s academic association with other foreign countries through education and research to foster future education and research activities beneficial to both collaborating partners, the institute said in a press release.
