The two earthquakes that hit Turkey killed more than 3,000 people in the country and in Syria.
Early on February 6, two earthquakes struck Turkey, the first with a magnitude of 7.8 and the second with a magnitude of 7.5. The incident caused massive destruction in the country and Syriawith an estimated death toll of over 3,000 and rising and 14,000 reported injuries.
Following the news, actors, filmmakers and artists from around the world responded in support of those affected by the tragedy. Cat Stevens, Kerry Washington, Antonio Banderas and Mark Ruffalo were among those who showed their support for the earthquake victims on social media:
