The Preview app on macOS lets you view, search, print, and more with PDF files. But if you just want a new PDF with certain pages, you don’t have to fiddle around much.

View thumbnails in preview mode

With the PDF file open, select View > Thumbnails if it doesn’t already show up in the sidebar.
Select the desired pages

In the sidebar, click on the desired page. If you want to select multiple pages, hold down the Shift key while clicking on the pages.

In the Pages area of the Print dialog box, click Selected page or Selected pages in the sidebar.
Save as PDF

From the PDF pop-up menu at the bottom middle of the dialog box, choose Save as PDF.
Change PDF name

Preview automatically fills in the name of the current PDF file. To avoid overwriting this file, enter a new descriptive name and click Keep.
