“Five Nights at Freddy’s” finally makes the leap from console to the big screen. The video game franchise has long been destined to become a horror movie, and the first trailer gives fans a hint at what the screen version of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza will look like.

The first “Five Nights at Freddy’s” video game was released in 2014. A year later, the game’s creator, Scott Cawthon, announced that a film adaptation was in the works – although the project suffered a number of setbacks. over the years, going through a series of directors before producer Jason Blum took over the project in 2017, by Variety. The final product, which is scheduled to premiere just in time for Halloween this year will be directed by Emma Tammi.

“Five Nights at Freddy’s” will follow a security guard tasked with taking charge of the night shift at a haunted pizzeria and game room. He faces off against a series of violent robots who love live music as much as they love murder, and usually kill anyone still in their arcade after midnight.

Josh Hutcherson stars as the central, highly over-the-top security guard, Mike Schmidt. Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling, Mary Stuart Masterson and Matthew Lillard round out the film’s cast.
