Eva Longoria made a grand entrance at the 2023 amfAR gala in walking sticks Thursday, wearing a gothic-inspired dress that showed off her slender physique.

The 48-year-old looked sensational in her black ensemble, wearing a high-cut bodysuit under a sheer, sparkly dress with structured shoulder detailing that showed off her toned legs and fitted waist.

Eva added height to her petite figure in a pair of killer heels and played up the vampy vibe with a bold red lipstick. She wore her hair up in a chic ponytail and added a brown smoky eye and softly sculpted cheeks.

Alongside her acting role, Eva has led her directorial journey, with her directorial debut screened at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. The talented director spoke candidly about the underrepresentation of female directors in Hollywood while discussing her debut as director, Flaming hotat the Kering Women in Motion conference earlier this week.

“I felt the weight of my community, I felt the weight of each female director because you don’t bite the apple much,” she shared. Eva, whose directorial portfolio includes episodes of Blackish And Joan the Virgin, pointed out the significant time lapse since the last studio film directed by a Latina.

“You can’t have a movie every 20 years,” she said. “So the problem is, if this movie fails, people say, ‘Oh, Latino stories don’t work. Oh, the female directors really aren’t up to snuff.'” Eva pointed out the disparity between the opportunities available to him and those of his white male counterparts. “A white man can make a $200 million movie, fail, and get another one. Right?” she says.

With the beginnings of Flamin’ Hot, she felt the immense pressure of this one chance. “I gotta do it right, I gotta do it right, I gotta work twice as hard, I gotta hustle everyone in the room, I gotta work twice as fast, I gotta do it twice as cheap…You really carry the generational trauma with you in the making of the film,” she confessed.

Despite the challenges, Eva remained determined and positive. “I was just determined and excited for the trip, and we have a great movie,” she said.

Flamin’ Hot, according to Disney+, is an inspirational tale based on a 2013 memoir. It tells the gripping story of Richard Montañez, a Frito Lay janitor who revolutionized the food industry. The film stars Jesse Garcia, Tony Shalhoub, Dennis Haysbert, Emilio Rivera and Annie Gonzalez.
