Noodlecake Studios, the publisher of several of the largest ports of Android on our platform, recently released descenders on Google Play. Priced at $9.99, this is a complete port of the game that many know and love (a 10/10 title on Steam), with no in-app purchases or microtransactions.

The game is a downhill mountain bike game with a procedurally generated environment. This fact makes the game infinitely replayable, which is good when we’re talking about a $10 mobile game. Players can earn new gear, build their reputation with a fully integrated online system, and use a control system that still requires some tweaking.

I tried the game myself and after 5 minutes felt rather frustrated with the controls. They can be very sensitive, plus several reviewers on Google Play have mentioned that their various third party game controllers are still not supported. Noodlecake seems to be working on this issue. On my Pixel 6 Pro, game performance was very good, with no stuttering or issues to report. However, the same cannot be said for other players, with several reviewers mentioning performance and frame rate issues on other devices.

If you’re a big Descenders fan, give it a try and let us know what you think of the port.
