The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is set to be held tomorrow, July 26, directly from Samsung territory, Seoul. And ahead of the event, the smartphone maker took over all major digital billboards in Gangnam District and Namsan Seoul Tower in Nam Mountain. The mini-videos tease Samsung’s new foldable smartphones, said to be the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, both of which are supposed to be announced at the event.

These outdoor advertisements in Seoul were placed in the Gangnam district, near COEX where the Unpacked event is held, and N Seoul Tower in Nam Mountain. The event takes place at COEX, starting at 4:30 p.m. IST. Namsan Seoul Tower is the highest point that can be accessed to take a look at the beautiful city. It is also Korea’s first general radio wave tower.

Join the flip side

The ads are cryptic, but they reveal the most important information, as the slogan ‘Join the flip side’ pops up from time to time. The rest of the teaser shows a smartphone folding in half (which is likely artwork for the Galaxy Z Flip 5), and a group of animated characters dancing on it as the smartphone screen turns into disco lights. The end of the video shows the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ message followed by the event details.

Apart from that, the streets of Gangnam neighborhoods were also covered with narrow stalls where the same characters can be seen dancing and calling people to join them upside down.

Seoul’s Namsan Tower was also seen carrying these promo videos where characters danced and slithered around the tower with a large Galaxy Unpacked written on top.

It should be noted that this is the first time that Samsung has held its Galaxy Unpacked event in Seoul.

Various leaks have reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will likely be announced at the event. Among the notable improvements, the smartphones are expected to feature a new hinge mechanism that will allow the devices to fold flat. The Flip 5 is also rumored to have a bigger cover screen and better battery life. Apart from that, iterative upgrades are expected in the spec sheet of the phones.

It was also said that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series, could also be unveiled at the event. Some sources have also reported that the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE may also be featured, however, no concrete information has been received regarding this particular device.
