A video has emerged of Anne Hathaway taking offense and clapping after being asked about her weight during an interview.

THE canadian Film critic and TV and radio personality Chris Van Vliet appears to be trying to change the conversation during a press interview for the actor’s 2011 film, A day.

You can see the toe curling interview here:

To what appears to be the conclusion of his time with the star, he doesn’t so subtly ask about an upcoming movie and, in particular, that famous catsuit.

“The fans are really excited about this. A few days ago we finally saw the first photos of you as catwoman.”

The star rolls her eyes, seemingly aware of the question that is about to arise.

“How do you fit into this costume? »

Hathaway bursts out laughing as she tries to politely escape the body shame question answering, “It takes three of us and a lot of head start.”

She continues: “Sit-ups, triceps curls and, you know, bench kicks – I don’t know.”

Bitingly, the actor retorts, “You didn’t just ask me that. What a fashion-forward young man you are! My God – how much weight?!”

The interviewer seems to backtrack but seems pleased with her dismayed reaction: “I’m sorry. I’m not saying you needed to lose weight.”

Hathaway squints and responds with remarkable restraint, “I worked very hard to become Selena Kyle.

He agrees: “I know you have.”

The front interviewer then thanks the actor for his time and apologizes, saying, “I’m sorry if I offended you.”

To which Hathaway responds with a laugh and a handshake, “You don’t have it at all, I’m just kidding you.”

She said in an on-camera post on her TikTok page: “I just wanted to address your concerns about my body and talk a bit about what it means to be a person with a body and to be seen and to do the object of such attention.

“I think we should be softer and less comfortable commenting on people’s bodies no matter what.

“If you think you’re saying anything good or well-meaning, whatever it is: healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, unsexy…we just shouldn’t.”
