If you’ve been itching to learn more about the iPhone 15 rumors, yet another batch of renders have been leaked showing just about everything about the new phone. However, if you’re hoping for something new, let’s just say we’ve reached the point of confirming the rumor cycle.
Thanks to “exclusive information from MFi accessory makers,” the latest renders from 9to5Mac aim to showcase Apple’s flagship phone from all angles, and while they don’t differ much from previous rumors and renders, they show significant differences from previous versions. iPhone 14 pro. But while we’ve already learned a lot about the phone, it will be difficult to get a true sense of the changes until we see the phone in person.
Exquisite design
For the first time, the iPhone 15 Pro will reportedly be made with a titanium frame rather than stainless steel. This should reduce the weight of the phone and make it look matte instead of shiny. It will also reportedly feature slightly rounded edges, giving it a “noticeable upgrade in the hand” without drastically changing the overall look or shape of the device. Since the iPhone 12, iPhones have had some pretty sharp edges, so we’re excited to get our hands on the iPhone 15 Pro for the first time.
According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone 15 Pro will be slightly smaller than the iPhone 14 Pro:
- iPhone 15 Pro: 70.46 x 146.47 x 8.24mm
- iPhone 14 Pro: 71.45 x 47.46 x 7.84mm
The new color for the iPhone 15 Pro will reportedly be “Deep Red”, which will replace Deep Purple along with white, black and gold. Apple Pro colors are hard to capture in photos, and we can’t wait to see what Apple’s first red model will look like in real life.
Thinner bezels
The iPhone 15 Pro will have the same 6.1-inch display as the iPhone 14 Pro, but it will appear much larger thanks to significantly reduced bezels. According to CAD drawings, the iPhone 15 Pro will have the smallest bezels of any smartphone at just 1.55mm, about 25% smaller than the iPhone 14 Pro. The bezels are hard to capture in photos, and we can’t wait to see how close the screen actually gets to the edges of the phone.

The bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra will reportedly be much thinner than those of the iPhone 14 Pro.

Solid state buttons
As previously reported, Apple will be removing all physical buttons from the iPhone 15 Pro, turning the volume and power buttons into solid-state buttons that use tactile mechanisms to simulate pressing. For the first time, the mute switch will also become a solid-state button and is rumored to have additional features such as the Apple Watch Ultra’s Action button. Pressing iPhone buttons for 15 years, we wonder if Apple can really trick our brains into thinking the buttons are the same, and if we’ll still accidentally unmute our phones by taking them out of our pockets.
big camera
The iPhone 14 Pro has a pretty big camera system, but the iPhone 15 Pro will have an even bigger one. According to the latest report from 9to5Mac, the camera protrusion will be larger and “the protrusion of individual lenses has more than doubled.” It’s unclear why the cameras are so much larger, as the iPhone 15 Pro will reportedly have the same wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses, but this is likely due to an upgrade to the sensor and other hardware. The iPhone’s camera protrusion has grown steadily over the years, but doubling the current protrusion feels like overkill.
Switch to USB-C
As we’ve heard so many times, the iPhone 15 Pro will switch from Lightning to USB-C to comply with the new EU law. Apple has been reported to offer fast charging, but it will be limited to MFi cables and chargers. No matter how similar the two cables are, it will definitely be strange to see an iPhone without Lightning for the first time in 10 years.
There’s still five months left before Apple releases the iPhone 15, so we’ll be keeping an eye on the rest of the rumors as they come up. Don’t forget to bookmark our iPhone 15 hub to stay up to date.
